Snitches get stitches...

or book contracts!

I just finished listening to a NPR interview with Scott McClellan who just wrote a "tell-all" book about the Bush admin. It got me wondering-- If I could snitch on anything, anybody, anyplace in the world, what would it be? What would you write your whistle-blower tell-all about?

Dead ringer?

I got this quiz from Dollface

What is in a name?

Your number is: 9

The characteristics of #9 are: Humanitarian, giving nature, selflessness, obligations, creative expression.

The expression or destiny for #9:
The expression that you exhibit is represented bythe number 9. Your talents center in humanistic interests and approaches. You like to help others as you were intended to be the 'big brother or big sister' type. You operate best when you follow your feelings and sense of compassion, and allow yourself to be sensitive to the needs of others. You work well with people, and have the potential to inspire. This suggests that you could successfully teach or counsel. Creative ability, imagination and artistic talent (often latent) of the highest order are present in this expression. It's possible that you're not using or developing all of these capabilities at this time. Some of your talents may have been used at an earlier time in your life, and some may still be latent. Be aware of your capabilities, so that you can make use of them at appropriate times.

If you are able to achieve the potential of your natural expression in this life, you are capable of much human understanding and have a lot to give to others. Your personal ambitions are likely to be maintained in a very positive perspective, never losing sight of an interest in people, and a sympathetic, tolerant, broad-minded and compassionate point of view. You are quite idealistic, and disappointed at the lack of perfection in the world. You have a strong awareness of your own feeling as well as those of others. Friendships, affection, and love are extremely important.

Undeveloped or ignored, the negative side of the 9 expression can be very selfish and self-centered. If you do not actively involve yourself with work that benefits others, you may tend to express just the opposite characteristics. It is your role to be very involved with other people and their needs, but it may be difficult for you achieve this role. Aloofness, lack of involvement, and a lack of sensitivity mark the low road of this expression.

Your Soul Urge number is: 11

A Soul Urge number of 11 means:
With the 11 Soul Urge, much of your thinking and interests relate to the abstract, the spiritual, and utopian dreams. You are motivated toward idealistic concepts, and the sharing of your ideas and concepts with humanity. This number is not one that is giving in a material or a practical sense, but rather one who desires to help mankind with a more abstract commodity such as religion, spiritualism, occult studies, or even psychic abilities.

If you possess the positive 11 Soul Urge traits, you have a dream of the perfect world; you are highly idealistic and inspirational. Your inner strength and devotion to your beliefs are extremely strong. You have a very good mind that is especially well equipped to handle the higher, more abstract forms of thought.

If there is an excess of 11 energy in your makeup, you may possess some the negative 11 traits. There is a tendency for the 11 to produce considerable amounts of nervous tension which is bought on by a very high level of awareness. You may be too sensitive and overly emotional. In some cases, these sensitivities and emotions are quite repressed, and this tends to add even more to the sense of nervousness in the makeup.

The strong 11 is not a very practical person because of the extreme idealism; often, there is a degree of self-deception present. There is usually a rather fixed idea of right and wrong held by those showing strong 11 traits, and with this very often is a resulting attitude of inflexibility.

Your Inner Dream number is: 7

An Inner Dream number of 7 means:
You dream of having the opportunity to read, study, and shut yourself off from worldly distractions. You can see yourself as a teacher, mystic, or ecclesiastic, spending your life in the pursuit of knowledge and learning.

Out like a lamb

Like I Wanna Blues

I wanna to be in your arms, snuggle up really close, and lay my head on your chest. I wanna hear the timbre of your voice in my left ear and feel its rumble in your chest with my right. I wanna stop time and finish what we started--a momentary dalliance in the suspension of time. I wanna hear you muse about rearranging your life for me; asserting how your couldas should have been shouldas. I wanna hear how you play "Almost doesn't count" on repeat and how you've reconciled yourself to a life of ground chuck, because there is no longer the possibility of fillet mignon in my absence. I want what I want, but it ain't what I need.

Pet Peeves

I'm more than a little annoyed right now. So I will just type out my pet peeves, put it into cyberspace and be done.

1. Multitasking while on the cellphone - Although you may feel like you are accomplishing alot, multitasking is linked to inefficiency. I get irritated when folks call me and are distracted during the conversation because they are on the computer or doing something else. Focus and call me later!

2. When people say what are you doing as a greeting. Ask me how I'm doing, how's my day. Shoot a simple 'hello' will suffice.

3. Debbie downers - In the past 24 hours I've had many joyous moments, but joy suckers quickly find their way to me...ugh!

4. Anxiety projectors - Recognize that your concern comes from your own fear, don't try to project your fears onto me and my life.

Okay I feel better now...

Somehow I thought he'd live forever

When my granddad got sick last month I knew there was something different. My granddad used to have a pizazz about him that kept him on the move. If anyone tried to pay him a visit after 12pm they were sure to miss him. He'd say you can come "but I won't be here." He said old, dying people stay in the house. Well, for the past year he has been staying in the house more and more and sleeping for longer hours. But I still refused to believe he was becoming a shell of his former self. Afterall I was my granddad--Buddy is what they called him. He'd survived WWII, colon cancer, and prostate cancer and is 81 years old--that is almost unheard of for a Black man. But like I said before...there was something different about this time.

He's been in the hospital for 3-4 weeks and hasn't gotten out of bed. He hardly eats and talks. When I talked to my mom earlier today she said his doctor said he'd had a stroke and he had a severe seizure this past weekend that literally left him speechless. As a result he is now on a breathing machine and a feeding tube. The docs think there is a good chance that he will be able to sustain his breathing on his own w/in the next week (he is already breathing a lil bit above the machine). However, he will never be able to eat on his own. If he get off the machine he will have to be in a nursing home w/ a feeding tube. My grandparents aren't married and my mom has 6 living siblings. so you can imagine that coming to a consensus about whether or not he should live on a feeding tube is quite difficult.

I just ask that ya'll pray that my family comes to a consensus and does what is best for my granddad. It is tough times for the fam right now, especially for my mom who is the most responsible one. She held my grandada while he had a seizure and has watched him slip out of consciousness. I know that the last thing my granddad wants is to be trapped in his own body...anyway pray for him, pray for us.

I'll keep you updated.
